Meet one of our new Clinicians, Dr. Alexia Holovatyk. Please visit her website, Live Well Psychology Group

How did you become involved with Fran’s Place?

“When I learned about Fran’s place, I really resonated with their mission to provide complimentary care to individuals, couples, and families who need it most. The cost of seeing a therapist shouldn’t be a barrier for anyone facing this disease and I am so glad to help move their mission forward.”

How did you get involved in therapy for cancer patients and their families?

“My passion for working with this population began while working as an extern at the Simms/Mann Center for Integrative Oncology at UCLA. In being with people at their most pivotal moments, it constantly reminded me what really matters in life. This work has humbled and challenged me in many ways, and I am so excited to continue this work at Fran’s place.”

Dr. Holovatyk earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Nova Southeastern University. She is trained in evidence-based modalities, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion Focused Therapy for individuals and couples (EFT), Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She received additional certifications, such as the VA CALM mindfulness facilitator training as well as a 200-hour yoga teaching certification to deepen her understanding of the mind-body-spirit connection. Throughout her training, she has worked with patients diagnosed with cancer as well as their family members in individual, couples, and group therapy. She specializes in survivorship, grief, and women’s issues.
